Jeff’s first child is Sophie (10) and like the name says is very tiny. After naming the first venture after Sophie, there is the non spoken pressure to follow suit with the namesake of his second daughter Amelie (8). Of course he would like what he does to reflect two of his biggest loves in life, his sweet little girls and making pastries. We aim to carve out our own slice of the New Orleans food scene; with combining those two loves. Doing so by providing unique modernized versions of classic New Orleans pastries and some other regional gems from different parts of Europe
Chef Jeff Becnel
Jeff is a trained chef and worked on the savory side of the kitchen for 20 years. 8 years ago he turned his dining room into a bakery, began teaching himself to bake, and selling pastries at farmers markets. 5 years ago he opened the bakery after becoming so popular at the Markets.
Jeff attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY & has worked at The French Laundry in Napa Valley, California, Guy Savoy in Las Vegas, The Capital Hotel in London, England (under Chef Eric Chavot), Maestro, Tyson’s Corner, VA (under Chef Fabbio Trabocchi), & The Spielweg Romantik Hotel in the Black Forest, Germany; In New Orleans at Comander’s Palace, Restaurant Stella, 7 on Fulton (under Chef Michael Sichel), & Restaurant Luke (under Chef John Besh).
